Dutch DJ and production duo Bassjackers continue to fly the flag for vigorous, big room beats. 2022 marks their eighth consecutive entry into the Top 100 DJs poll, cementing their status as reliable craftsmen of high-energy stomp and addictive drops. This year Marlon Flohr, the duo’s effervescent DJ, and Ralph van Hilst, the studio expert, were able to divert from the production work they’d embarked upon heavily when Covid-19 shuttered the world and get back out on the road. ‘Psycho’, their moody link-up with Austrian duo Harris & Ford and Norwegian singer-songwriter Rebecca Helena, and the reggaeton pulse of their MATTN collaboration ‘Dumb Dumb’ (feat. Emy Perez) were a welcome change from the vim of their electro-house and big room tendencies. But other collaborations including ‘DERP’ with MAKJ, ‘Fall’ with L3N, and ‘Lose It’ with SaberZ were ripe for unmissable festival sets. “We're now slowly moving into our new studio, which is refreshing," Bassjackers say of what’s next. "New vibe also means new sounds, so expect a lot of new music soon.”
