Location: Santa Catarina, Brazil
A venue that rises out of the forest, nestled right next to the beach with an open-air dancefloor that is lit up each morning by the sun rising over the Atlantic, Brazil’s Warung Beach Club is a unique clubbing experience.
Constructed almost entirely from wood, thatch and other organic materials which contribute to the venue’s unique acoustics, Warung Beach Club has a striking aesthetic, inspired by Indonesian temples, all adding to the air of magic. With limited opening even during peak season, the club doesn’t have a permanently installed soundsystem, preferring to install a custom rig whenever the venue opens.
Since launching in 2002, Warung Beach Club has played an important role in shaping Brazil’s electronic music scene and spreading the house and techno gospel in Brazil. The venue has previously hosted some of clubland's most revered brands, including All Day I Dream, fabric and Life & Death, as well as regularly booking DJs like Richie Hawtin, Honey Dijon, Peggy Gou and Solomun.
Warung Beach Club is another venue that has managed to weather the Covid storm and is now continuing the return to nightlife, running events featuring DJs like ANNA, Gui Boratto, Maceo Plex, Boris Brejcha, Jamie Jones and Hernan Cattaneo.
