Location: Newcastle upon Tyne, UK
Opening its doors back in 1993, World Headquarters is a quintessential part of Newcastle’s nightlife. From its beginning, it’s been synonymous with inclusivity and musical diversity. As well as bringing international artists to the intimate, small-capacity club, the focus is on nurturing up-and-coming local talent from the surrounding scene, with resident DJs such as Luke Scott, Becky Woodcock and DJ Awkward Black Girl. In the past year, the club has invited the likes of DJ Harvey, Andy C and Floating Points, continued to be home to the longstanding party Ape-X and Man Power’s Me Me Me, plus hosted live bands while spoken word and other events run alongside the club shows. Right now the club is all about staying true to its principles of promoting inclusivity and racial harmony.
